Jean Scott

​

Jean loves the process of painting using lively, gestural marks and the bigger the brush the better. Her work varies depending on the medium, but whether painting in oils or acrylics the works tend to go in and out of abstraction and relate to the surrounding landscape. An abstract expressionist approach of working captures a sense of emotion.

   She walks in the landscape capturing memories of being in that place at a particular time then works in the studio with the stored memories and with imagination the painting develops and takes on it’s own life and mood.

   Jean lives and has a studio in Hardys Bay and is an experienced and exhibiting artist. She has held many solo and group exhibitions in Sydney and on the Central Coast including an exhibition in the Foyer of Gosford Regional Art Gallery, and 8 times a finalist in the prestigious Gosford Regional Gallery Art Prize.
